Martin Odegaard shares what Arsenal will be doing this summer to close the gap on Manchester City

Arsenal came within just two points of Manchester City last season in the race for the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta‘s side are continuing to close the gap on City year-on-year, but the Gunners are yet to quite get over the line under the Spaniard.

It has now been over two decades since Arsenal got their hands on the English crown but they now look to make it third time lucky in their pursuit under Arteta.

With Edu Gaspar and Arteta overseeing the progression of the north Londoners, Arsenal look set to be challenging at the top end for years to come.

However, it is apparent there are some things which need to be improved if they are to get over the line as champions.

And captain Martin Odegaard has now shared what the Gunners will be working on this summer to finally get their hands back on the Premier League trophy.

What Arsenal are working on this summer to leapfrog Manchester City

Arsenal have made some significant progress in recent years under Arteta with the Spaniard returning the Gunners back to regular European qualification.

However, the north London side have now got their hands on any major silverware since 2019 when they won the FA Cup.

They have come within touching distance of the Premier League title over the last two years but have fallen short late on.

But work is going on behind the scenes at London Colney to push Arsenal beyond Pep Guardiola‘s side ahead of the start of the new season

The Norwegian has had no international tournaments to consider this summer as he admitted Arsenal will be working on the finer details over the coming weeks.

“In football there are small margins. It’s easy to look at one game but I think you have to look at the whole season,” he said.

“We didn’t have the consistency to win it and we have to earn it and we know we can improve, get better and that’s what we’re working on. We were so close but we’re going to come back even stronger now I’m sure.”

Martin Odegaard will be ready and rested for new campaign

Last season saw the Arsenal captain put in another sublime showing with eight goals and 10 assists returned in the Premier League alone.
