Paris Saint-Germain are now interested in signing a player who is on Mikel Arteta’s radar at Arsenal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Arsenal are in the market for a versatile player in defence as they search for fresh options at full-back.
TBR Football revealed earlier this month that both Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko have been told they are free to leave.
The Gunners are keen to keep hold of Jakub Kiwior, despite growing interest from Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus.
Should Tierney and Zinchenko head out the door, Arsenal will need another option at left-back, as well as right-back as they currently lack cover for Ben White.
Jurrien Timber has returned from an ACL injury and is able to play across the backline but the Gunners have been linked with a move for another versatile Dutch defender.
Indeed, Mikel Arteta is reportedly interested in signing Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida, with the Dutchman on Arsenal’s radar. But according to Romano, they could face stern competition for Geertruida’s signature this summer.
PSG keen on signing Arsenal target Lutsharel Geertruida
Geertruida is also attracting interest from Liverpool after his former boss Arne Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
Now, Romano claims that PSG have added the defender to their list of options as they target a new centre-back.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba is also on the Ligue 1 giants’ radar.
Geertruida a man in demand
It’s no surprise that Geertruida is attracting interest from a host of top sides after an excellent few years at Feyenoord.
The defender is an incredibly versatile player who’s able to play across the backline, much like Timber.
Geertruida has also operated in a defensive midfield role under Slot at Feyenoord and is reportedly valued at around £25 million.
