Arsenal run rule over Benjamin Sesko

Arsenal watched Benjamin Sesko in action as they were ready to step up their efforts for the striker and get ahead of the competition.

According to HITC, Arsenal scouted Benjamin Sesko on the final day of Bundesliga action as they continued to step up their pursuit of the striker. Chelsea and Manchester United are also in the hunt for the £55 million-rated striker, but the Gunners are looking to get ahead of the competition.

Arsenal scout Benjamin Sesko

Once a club begins close scouting of a player, it usually ends up making an approach, and in Arsenal’s case, that might happen with Benjamin Sesko. The Gunners are keen on the striker, with recent reports heavily linking him with a move to the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta has been looking for a new striker ahead of the summer window, with Sesko now seemingly one of their important targets. There have been links to some other names, like Viktor Gyokeres and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, but the Slovenian is now fitting into their plans well, especially after the emergence of Kai Havertz in the centre-forward role.

Arsenal scouts are watching Sesko in action as he scored for the seventh successive Bundesliga game. RB Leipzig played out a 2-2 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt and finished their season in Champions League places. While reports have pointed towards an active clause worth £60 million or more, the current report states he could leave the club for £55 million in the summer.

It’s a decent enough price point from Arsenal’s perspective, meaning they are very much considering a move. Furthermore, his agent was spotted in two of Arsenal’s recent Premier League games, which further indicate that both parties are probably talking about the transfer.

Sesko has other suitors from the Premier League

Chelsea are also in the race for Sesko as they seek a new No.9 in the summer window. The £55 million-rated could suit their young project, and they might as well make an approach, although the lack of Champions League football could swing the chase in Arsenal’s favour.

Manchester United were also considered suitors, with suggestions that the club wanted an additional striker to complement Rasmus Hojlund’s talents. However, the Red Devils are probably looking at an experienced frontman rather than someone as young as Sesko.
