Arsenal in advanced talks with striker who now has 11 goals from his last 13 top-flight starts

Arsenal are likely to be busy in the summer window as Edu and Mikel Arteta look to strengthen their ranks.

No matter what happens in the league this term, it’s clear that the Gunners have continued to improve with each passing season under Arteta.

Arsenal will be eager to go again in the Premier League and the Champions League next term, and new signings will increase their chances of success.

A new striker could well be on the cards for the Gunners, as they’ve lacked an out-and-out No. 9 who provides a focal point in attack.

Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers, including one who they’re apparently closing in on for a summer move.

CaughtOffside recently reported that the Gunners are at ‘an advanced stage in their talks’ with Benjamin Sesko to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

A four-year contract with an option to extend that by another 12 months is apparently being discussed with the RB Leipzig forward.

Better yet, Sesko is reportedly ‘prioritising a move to Arsenal’ even though AC Milan are interested in him.

How has Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko been doing this season?

Sesko has had had a season of two halves this term. Up until the end of January, he had only scored three league goals.

However, the 20-year-old ended his league goal drought by scoring in the 5-2 loss to Stuttgart on 27 January, and he hasn’t looked backed since.

Sesko has now finished the season with 13 league goals, plus two in the Champions League and two in the German Cup for a total of 17 in all competitions.

Leipzig played their final game of the 2023/24 Bundesliga season on Saturday, and the reported Gunners target scored in the 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt.

As per Fabrizio Romano’s X account, this means that Sesko now has a goal or assist in every league game he has started since 27 January. That’s 11 goals and two assists from 13 game
