In the late stages of last weekend’s victory over Manchester United, Saka was substituted after a firm challenge by Sofyan Amrabat saw him tumble into the advertising hoardings and down a slight drop at the side of the Old Trafford pitch.
Following the collision, Mikel Arteta chose to withdraw his star attacker as the Gunners went on to see out another huge three points. The victory meant the Premier League title race would go down to the final day however Manchester City hold the advantage after winning their game in hand against Tottenham.
While the North Londoners have been superb in recent months on their own patch, playing this campaign’s final game without Saka would be a blow, but that scenario does not look set to play out. The 22-year-old has picked up a number of niggling injuries this season and yet he has missed just two league games.
Concerns surrounding his availability for Sunday’s game increased when he was not spotted from Arsenal’s training photos earlier in the week before also being noticeably absent from the squad picture congratulating David Raya on his golden glove award.
In his pre-Everton press conference, Arteta was mostly asked about the title race which meant no Saka update was provided by the Arsenal boss. However, the expectation is that he will feature for the Gunners in what is their most important game of the last few years.
