Arsenal reportedly have ‘reservations’ over one potential summer signing, after claims Edu Gaspar launched a bid to sign him.
It looks set to be a busy summer at Arsenal, regardless of whether or not they end the season with a Premier League title.
Mikel Arteta has proven to be ruthless when it comes to improving his squad, with Aaron Ramsdale’s situation the evidence of that.
A new midfielder seems to be on the agenda for the Gunners, particularly with Kai Havertz currently excelling as a striker.
Amadou Onana has been continuously linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium after an impressive start to life in the Premier League. But Sports Lens has shared why Arsenal now have doubts over signing the Everton midfielder.
Arsenal have doubts over Amadou Onana signing
The outlet has shared the latest on Arsenal’s search for a new midfielder, with Martin Zubimendi, Bruno Guimaraes and Douglas Luiz all of interest to Arteta’s men.
However, despite scouting Onana for an extended period of time, Arsenal have ‘reservations’ over the midfielder.
Edu reportedly made bid to sign Onana
Back in February, Arsenal were viewed as the frontrunners to sign Onana this summer.
Indeed, it was even claimed that sporting director Edu Gaspar had launched a bid to sign the midfielder, alongside Manchester United.
Links to Onana have somewhat cooled since and it would make sense for Arsenal to consider other options at £60 million.
While the 22-year-old has caught the eye at Everton, there are plenty of options for Arsenal to explore and they will also be mindful of the need for attacking reinforcements this summer.
Onana has enjoyed another promising campaign at Goodison Park though, netting three times and providing an assist in 33 appearances in all competitions. Should Everton lower their demands, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Arsenal revisit their interest.
