Arsenal FC pay tribute to Daniel Anjorin after sword attacks

Arsenal Football Club have expressed their shock and sadness after a 14-year-old boy was killed in a spate of sword attacks.

Daniel Anjorin, an Arsenal fan, was stabbed to death on his way to school in Hainault after police were called to Laing Close just before 7am on Tuesday (April 30).

The Metropolitan Police had been called to that address amid reports a man had crashed his van into the fence of a house and people had been stabbed.

Four others, including two police officers, were injured in the attacks which resulted in Daniel’s tragic death and since then there has been an outpouring of grief.

“With his family’s blessing, we will make a tribute to Daniel shortly ahead of kick off tomorrow.

“We ask all supporters to pay their respects to Daniel with us in this moment.”

Daniel, who attended Bancroft’s school in Woodford Green, was described as a “true scholar” of a “positive nature and gentle character.”

Newham man Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, 36, who police have said lives in the E16 postcode, has since been charged.

He was due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court yesterday (May 2), accused of murdering Daniel.
