BYU men’s basketball snagged a highly regarded transfer on Monday morning. Baylor guard Robert Wright III made it official and announced he would be Provo bound next season. The five-star floor general will be paired with the nation’s top wing AJ Dybantsa and four-star rim runner Xavion Staton from Utah Prep.
At 6-foot-1, the All-Big 12 honorable mention averaged 11.5 points, 4.2 assists per game while shooting 41.4% from the field and 34.2% from beyond the arc in 35 games last year in Waco. Wright is considered one of the top point guards in the portal and could be a steal for the Cougars roster in 2025-26. He’s only a year removed from being rated the No. 24 recruit in the ESPN 100.
