‘Incredible’…Gary Neville blown away by something £43m Tottenham player did v Arsenal today

Tottenham and Arsenal played out a truly incredible game in north London this afternoon as the title race continued to twist and turn.

A disastrous first half for Spurs had seen them 3-0 down at half-time but after some words from Ange Postecoglou at the break, they fought back to produce in the second 45.

A mistake from David Raya allowed Cristian Romero the chance to score a well-taken goal before Heung-Min Son fired in a late penalty to make the last minutes seriously entertaining.

For Tottenham, it was actually a decent performance and many a Spurs fan would argue that they didn’t deserve to be 3-0 down at the break at all.

A number of their players did indeed turn up and against a tricky Arsenal attack with pace, the likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero handled them well – from open play at least.

And in one moment in the second half when Gabriel Martinelli threatened to speed clear, £43m signing Van de Ven showed off his pace, much to the amazement of Gary Neville on Sky Sports.

“Van de Ven, his power and his stride is incredible,” Neville said.

Micky van de Ven is a nightmare for forwards in open play

The defending from set-pieces might not have been great but when it comes to one on one duels and dealing with forwards, Micky van de Ven is one of the best.

The Dutchman showed some more of his excellent repertoire today and this was just one moment in the game where he showed his speed off brilliantly.

Van de Ven has been quite the signing for Tottenham and being able to deal with the speed of players like Martinelli is a huge asset to have.

The good thing for Spurs is that at only 23, Van de Ven is going to go on and get even better as he develops in the league.

Tottenham have pulled off a blinder here and Neville, like many of us, has been left so impressed by him.
