Emile Smith Rowe completes move to Fulham from Arsenal

Fulham FC have confirmed the signing of Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal.

The England international has committed to a five-year deal, with the option to extend for an additional year, keeping him at Craven Cottage until 2029.

Smith Rowe, an attacker, has made a name for himself playing primarily on the left wing or as a number 10, but is also capable on the right wing or in a deeper midfield role.

Expressing his excitement, Smith Rowe told FFCtv, “I’m finally here, so I’m really happy for me and my family – it’s a good moment. I just wanted to get here as quickly as possible so I could get going with my teammates. Listening to the project, speaking to the manager, and seeing what players we have here already, I think it’s an exciting project for me, and definitely the perfect step for my career going forward.”

Smith Rowe, a London native born in Croydon, began his journey at Arsenal’s academy. He made his senior debut in the 2018/19 season, scoring three times in the UEFA Europa League and League Cup. After a brief loan at RB Leipzig, he made his Premier League debut in December of the same year.

A subsequent loan to Huddersfield Town saw Smith Rowe score his first league goal at Craven Cottage and play a crucial role in their Championship survival.

In the 2020/21 season, Smith Rowe became a key player for Arsenal, earning the number 10 shirt and scoring 11 goals across all competitions. His performances earned him a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, where he scored once in three appearances.

Smith Rowe was also part of the England squad that won the 2023 Under-21 European Championship, scoring in the first two group games.

His last season with Arsenal saw him make 19 appearances.
